Go to download The Canary Islands Maritime Cluster is celebrating European Maritime Day 2022 starting this Wednesday with the first Macaronesian Marine-Maritime Alliance Conference that runs until Friday, May 20. The main mission of this conference is to promote the recognition and promotion of the Blue Economy in the Central Atlantic Area, understood as the space between the eastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean - from the Azores to the equator - and the western coast - from northern Brazil to Florida, including the entire Caribbean. After the years of pandemic, the CMC is now energizing the mission of this alliance with the launch of these First Conferences and with the reactivation of the face-to-face meetings of the SMARTBLUE_F project partnership. The objective during these days will be to advance internal technical tasks and consolidate the A3M with the holding of its First General Assembly of members and the launch of the thematic working groups. Events in La Palma The Conferences will take place in La Palma and Gran Canaria.
On Wednesday, May 18, starting at 9 a.m., the events take place at the Real Club Náutico de Santa Cruz de La Palma. This first day will also serve to present the new headquarters in La Palma of the Canary Islands Ocean Platform (PLOCAN), a partner of the SMARTBLUE_F project. The first session of the conference will have as its central axis the staging of the A3M, the Technological Surveillance tool and the Marine-Maritime Observatory promoted by the aforementioned project, as well as giving visibility to local agents of relevance in the sector of WhatsApp Number List the Blue Economy. Sign in Gran Canaria On Thursday, May 19, starting at 10 a.m., the conference moves to the island of Gran Canaria, within the framework of the International Sea Fair (Fimar 2022). Another conference of interest is the one presented by Raúl García Brink, technical coordinator of the Area of Economic Development, Energy Sovereignty, Climate and Knowledge of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and which will address the 'Strategy for adaptation to Climate Change'. Finally, Andrés Caballero Quintana, head of the Ciudad de Mar Technical Unit, will announce the 'Ciudad de Mar Educational Project' promoted by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council. As a closing of these First A3M Conferences, on Friday, May 20, the CMC and its project partners will participate in the inauguration of FIMAR 2022, a reference event in the Blue Economy promoted by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council together with the Island Council. The conferences have the collaboration of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council through the Ciudad de Mar Area; the City Council of Santa Cruz de La Palma; the Real Nuevo Club Náutico de Santa Cruz de La Palma; Africa House; the Cabildo of Gran Canaria; the Canary Islands Fair Institution (INFECAR); and the Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society (SPEGC). The project Consolidation of the Central Atlantic Alliance for SME competitiveness of the blue economy, SMARTBLUE_F is financed by the second call of the INTERREG VA MAC Territorial Cooperation Program (Madeira-Azores-Canary Islands) 2014-2020, co-financed at 85% by the FEDER Fund.
